This past weekend the trees were treated to "haircuts."

AFTER PHOTO

A weekend of clean up... big bonfire to come!

Sophie helping Dad pile up the fire pile.

Lilacs are in bloom.

A peek inside the barn basement.

Lots of work to be done here... someday.

The back porch doors were stained and hung.

Love the color!

Looking from the back porch into the living room. It will be a great area to entertain in.

We have counter tops!

Honed black soapstone on the kitchen counters and in the window sills.

There's a layer of dust on the island. Such is life these days!

Oh, how I love the pantry!

I cannot wait to organize the kitchen, stock the bar and get to cooking for a party.

The kitchen/dining stair case is almost complete.

The balls on the balusters are not installed here - there will be a cap under them.

Upstairs hall railing and lounge area.

The loft railing was also installed.

A sliding library ladder will be added for access to this fun space.

The girls bath. Our bathroom counter tops are Minsk granite.

Built in shelves in the girls bath.

A shot into Elle's room. I love how the doors and soapstone sills pull together. The window sashes are stained the same as the back porch doors.

The master bath comes together a bit more.

Still waiting on some corner tiles to wrap this job up.

A towel warmer will go in the spot with the taller chair rail.

It'll be exciting to see the pedestal tub in place... with a chandelier hung over it!

Our bedroom is stain central. Getting the rest of the exterior doors prepared.

And last but not least, the counter top in the laundry room.

I think we're getting there. Still one-day-at-a-time and a whole list of little odds and ends but painting should be in full force soon. We expect the plumber out this week and a wrap up on the stairs. Watch for updates again soon. XOXO

March 19, 2012

March is the new July in Wisconsin.

An entire week of sunshine and record breaking temps really helped to dry things out and green things up. Loving the blue sky, bluebells and sunshine!

Since it has dried up around the house, here's a tour of the exterior starting at the front porch. We're anxious to get the columns painted ~ then the porch will "pop."

Master bedroom addition.

Master bedroom fireplace.

Our lovely dirt backyard.

The backside.

The window on the right is the master bedroom, the windows on the main level to the left are the family room addition. The walk out basement is a future project.

Curved porch.

Inside we have more cabinets installed. This is peeking into the laundry room.

Lockers and cabinets over the washer and dryer.

Farm sink.

The front stairs are looking good. The newel posts arrive tomorrow.

The kitchen island is in and a few more white cabinets.

From the hallway into the kitchen.

Bar end of the pantry.

STORAGE in the pantry... upper doors to come.

The kitchen stairwell is shaping up to be gorgeous too.

The dining room is a wood shop these days!

A peek into the master bathroom.

The tile chair rail has begun.

The bookcases in the landing went in. Lighting and top trim has yet to be installed.

The curved tin roof.

View from my studio above the garage ~ swoon! Things are shaping up. Watch for garage doors in the next post... Cheers!
